I had a very terrifying experience the other day. My car is an Acura 2001 3.2TL. I was on the PA Turnpike with my cruise control set at @69 mph. I went to brake and all of a sudden the speedometer needle was over 100 mph!!! I could not STOP! I tried braking and putting gear into neutral which did nothing! I kept pressing, then pressed down on the emergency brake...I blew my horn and flashed lights...this was a car out of control and I thought I was about to lose my life. The engine revved with a loud noise...it was all surreal...this is something you only see on TV!. I tried pulling over to the shoulder. I pressed down on both brakes and hard as I could, turned the key off and that is what stopped the car. I waited a few minutes and through my tears and hysteria, turned the car on...it revved like it was ready to take off at 500 mph. I turned it off and called roadside assistance, only to find out that the service had expired after four years. I never rec!
eived a notice about this (which is another matter). And the funny thing is, the car was just in last week for the transmission recall...Has anyone out there had a similar problem? I would like to hear about it. I bought the car in NJ but now live in Ohio.
Thanks for airing this complaint.
