I have an 03 TL S-type that has given me nothing but problems. I first took the car in to the dealer mid 03 with a whining noise coming from the transmission. The dealer, Tustin Acura said they could not find anything wrong with it and returned it to me. Two months later the transmission went out. The dealer kept my car for seven days and when I picked it up on a Friday evening. I stopped to fill the car up and when I started the car, all of the warning lights on the dash turned on and the transmission started shifting funny. I returned the car to the dealer that following Monday, this time they kept the car for twelve days while they installed yet another transmission. After this third transmission was installed, I have since had on-going transmission problems which the dealer says are not there. Been down this road before!I have also had trouble with navigation system, been replaced once and still is not 100%. The climate control system alos had to be replaced. M!
ost recently the trunk has developed a leak which has rendered the trunk unusable. I tried to resolve these issues with Acura with no success and have since retained an attorney. The attorney tried to settle the matter, however Acura's response was that there are no further issues with the car. About a week after this I got a recall notice for my transmission. Guess that is what they meant about no further issues. I am at my frustration point with this car and I still have another 18 months of lease left on it. It is to the point where I won't take the car on any lengthy trips. I think Acura builds a good car, but I have to tell you my 03 model is definately a lemon!
